English is supported on Elevate Touch at the present development phase. You can get ready to explore it in French and Spanish by following our next launching schedule!

Start the Machine

There are two approaches for consumers to start the machine by using the Elevate Touch:

  1. Start the Machine with Coin

  1. Start the Machine with Cloud Card

You can directly tap your card on the Elevate Touch to start the machine and proceed with the payment.

“Processing, Please Wait” will be shown on the screen. After a few seconds, it will enter the transaction mode and will be ready for the transaction.

If a location supports the Free Play mode (enabled “Free Play” in Vendor Portal → Location Management → Options → Supported payment Type), the Elevate Touch will display the Free Play mode initially. You should tap PRESS TO START to get the free play journey started. Please ensure the payment type(s) and cycle time have been set ahead of time based on your needs in CCM.

About Free Play Mode

Free Play mode offers users the chances to use the service without having to load the account. If it’s enabled, the consumer’s account balance will be replenished by the amount defined in the field “Free Play Refill Amount” when the user’s account balance (credit + bonus) reaches to $0.25. You can log in your vendor portal account and navigate to Location Management > Options tab. Enable “Free Play” and define the “Free Play Refill Amount” to activate the functionality.

  1. Display of Special Price

The Elevate Touch accommodates the transactions processed with the special price. The payment types that support the special price on Elevate Touch include the KioSoft mobile apps, Cloud-based card, and the bill/coin payments.

About Special Price

You should log in your vendor portal account and navigate to CCM > Universal Pulse > Products Price and Timing > Basic tab to define the value of special price.

The amount needed to start the machine for promotions. The unit is cent. The range should be within 1~99999 on the condition that it is not bigger than the value set for “Price.”

Two payment methods will be supported: 1) cash (mix tender), and 2) credit. The original price will directly jump to the special price once the customer starts the machine or tops off the transaction under the special price mode.

  1. Display of Privilege Mode

This feature is in the pilot phase and has a limited availability to vendors (CenterEdge).

Privileges loaded onto the card can be used by the customers to start a game machine. After customers tap the card on the Elevate Touch, it will send the payment request to the server to validate the accessibility of privilege. If they’re available, one play count will be deducted to start the machine, and the remaining play counts will be displayed on the reader’s screen. If the transaction failed due to some reason (e.g., insufficient balance), the privilege will be refunded to the card automatically.

The display of UIs will be shown as below when the privilege is successfully used and when it fails to deduct due to insufficient balance.

Remaining plays count displayed, followed by successful payment

Prompt alert when privilege balance is found to be insufficient

  1. White Labelling

The White Labeling feature allows you to define the logo display at the bottom in the right corner of the reader screen.

Scope and Limitation of White Labelling

Only the distributors can see these settings, vendors should not be able to see these settings.

Elevate Touch: both horizontal and vertical display.

This feature is limited to CenterEdge from Amusement only.

White Labelling Configuration

Permission Limitation

At the current phase, only the “Distributor Admin” or “Distributor Manager” under CenterEdge Distributor have access to this white labelling configuration.

Access KioCentral → Vendor Portal → Settings → General Settings → Reader section for the configuration.

There are three options in the dropdown menu of Reader White Labelling:

  • KioSoft Logo: If it’s selected, “KioSoft Logo” will be shown on the reader’s screen.

  • Distributor Logo: It will allow you to upload a vendor logo image from your local storage.

    - Image format: .png

    - Image standard: 95 × 20 px recommended (no more than 190 × 40)

    - Maximum Size: 10 KB

  • None: Default option. If it’s selected, no logo will be displayed at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Click on “Save changes” to save the configuration.

The settings will be updated by any of the following actions:

  • Manual setup of the reader for the first time

  • Reader reboot

  • Daily reboot

  1. Vendor Logo, Reader Background, Screen Rotation & LED Effects

The features of the vendor logo, reader background, screen rotation (for Elevate Touch), and LED effects are all defined in the CCM profiles.

CCM Profile

The following content focuses on introducing the features configurations. If you need to complete information about the CCM Profile, please consult the KioCentral User Manual.

Go to  KioCentral → CCM → Profile Builder to create a Universal Pulse profile or edit an existing one. All the features are defined under the "Audio Visual" tab of the Universal Pulse profile.

  1. Screen Rotation

The Elevate Touch can be used both horizontally and vertically, depending on what is needed. The parameter "Screen Rotation" can be used to adjust the reader direction.

The default "0 degree" means the reader is positioned horizontally upright, as shown below. The label at the back of the reader can help you verify the upright position too.

The reader rotates clockwise.

  1. Vendor Logo

The logo displayed at the bottom center can be defined by the parameter "Vendor Logo".

Click the "Upload Image" button.

Vendor Logo will NOT be shown on reader’s screen if no vendor logo image were uploaded for this field.

Then upload the logo you want from your local storage.

  • Image format: .png

  • Image standard: 190 × 40 px recommended (no more than 380 × 80)

  • Maximum Size: 20 KB

  1. Color Effect

Both Elevate Touch support the configuration of the LED color effects, with the parameter “Color Effect” and the effect panel section.

For Elevate Touch, the default idle effect will be Rainbow if no configuration were made on CCM.

Select "External LED Kit" from the dropdown menu. Otherwise, the definitions on the color and effect panel will not take effect. If the default choice “None” is set for Elevate Touch, the rainbow effect will apply.

The differences of the four effect patterns can be found in color and lighting.

What is Regular, Special, and Freeplay modes?

  • Regular mode is activated when Special Mode in the Machine Profile is disabled.

  • When One Time or Recurring is selected for Special Mode and relevant fields are configured, Special Mode is on.

  • When one of the special prices (such as Special Price, Special Min Price, etc.), which are to be configured in Products Price and Timing, is set to 0, Freeplay Mode is activated.

  • Steady: One color of light is always on.

  • Chase: It begins with all lights off. Each light will be turned on one by one until a group of a certain size is lit. As each new light at the leading edge is lit, a light from the tailing edge will be turned off. This continues until the leading light position moves back to the first position, with which the group of lit lights continues around the screen. The chasing direction moves clockwise.

  • Marquee: A group of three lights blinks in a way of full brightness, half brightness, and no brightness. The moving direction is clockwise.

  • Rainbow: This effect displays on the external LED kit and the reader’s screen border, with all the colors cycling around.

Tips for Brightness

It is advised to set brightness no more than 75 % because 100 % may cause overheat.

  1. Custom UI

With the "Custom UI" feature, users can define the background color and image of the Elevate Touch reader.

Click the Edit & Preview button, then select your reader. Then, you can choose between three options: Regular, Change Background Color, and Change Background Image.

Regular UI

If you select "Regular", the reader UIs will adopt the default UIs as previously.

Change Background Color

When you select "Change Background Color", you can input the HEX Code to change the background color of the reader.

The title color automatically switches between two colors based on the background theme (Dark or Light), as shown below.

Elevate Touch - Dark Background

Elevate Touch - Light Background

The Regular idle screen title is not configurable. It displays:

  • "Please Pay" when card payments aren’t supported in basic mode.

  • "Tap to Play" when card payments are supported as one payment option in basic mode.

  • "Select to Pay" in multi-price mode

Change Background Image

You can change the background image of the reader. Click the “Upload Image” button, then select the background image from your local storage.

  • Image format: .png

  • Image standard:

    - Resolution: 480 × 320 px recommended for horizontal screen; 320 × 480 px recommended for vertical screen

    - Dimension: it could be more than 480 (width or height), but it should not exceed 720.

  • Maximum Size: 400 KB

Below, there is an example of the reader's idle screen with a background picture changed.

Announcement!

The Mario background image in the example below is for illustration purposes only and not for commercial use. Please set the background image according to your own business needs.

Elevate Touch (Horizontal)

Elevate Touch (Vertical)
