Modem Tester User Guide

This guide walks you through how to use the Modem Tester with the Kiosoft Laundry Manager app. You'll learn how to set up the device, perform a site survey, and understand its key features.

The Modem Tester helps identify which available cellular SIM provider delivers the strongest and most reliable signal at your location. By surveying the installation area, you can make an informed decision about the best carrier for optimal machine connectivity.


Available Modem Testers

  • UTO-EE00-00: Modem Tester (Has 3 modems, 3 antennas) 

  • UTO-EE01-01: Modem Tester 5 (Has 5 modems, 5 antennas) 


What You'll Need

  • Modem Tester 

  • Android or iOS device with Kiosoft Laundry Manager (Please ensure you are on the latest version) 

  • Power Source 

IMPORTANT

The Modem Tester communicates with the Kiosoft Laundry Manager (KLM) app over a Wi-Fi connection.

Before you begin, ensure that:

  • Wi-Fi is turned on on your mobile device.

  • Mobile data is turned off to help maintain a stable connection to the Modem Tester.

  • If Wi-Fi is disabled, you may receive the error message "Unable to join network." If this occurs, enable Wi-Fi on your device and try connecting again.


How to use the modem tester

  1. Plug the Kiosoft Modem Tester into a power source. The position of the Kiosoft Modem Tester should be where you intend to place the modem in the room. 

  2. Open the Kiosoft Laundry Manager App and sign in to any SRC 

  3. Tap the Menu button (3 Lines)

  1. Scan the QR Code on the Kiosoft Modem Tester

  1. The Kiosoft Modem Tester will now begin testing. Each cellular signal test may take up to 1 minute.

    You may press Stop at any time to pause the test. Tapping Continue will resume the test. 

Your device may prompt you to join the Modem Tester's Wi-Fi network.

Tap Join to continue.

If you tap Cancel, the cellular signal test will not run, and the error "Correct WiFi Failed" will be displayed.

  1. Green results are indicators of good test results, and red results are indicators of bad test results. Tap “Good” or “Bad” to review Round-trip times. Use the cellular network with the highest 4G Signal Strength and the lowest Packet-loss Rate
