Document Overview

This guide provides instructions on Machine Installation, Software Installation, Troubleshooting, and Technical Specifications. It is hoped that with this document, users can self-install the machines and connect cables correctly. Besides, users shall be able to do troubleshooting when they meet common problems with this document.

Machine Installation

Installation requirements:

Choosing an installation area for KioSoft POS Cash Register (dimension of cash drawer, when closed, and when opened, the required space for it)

Connecting devices to KioSoft POS Cash Register:

Receipt Printer, Barcode Scanner, Cash Drawer, Ultra VXT, Electronic Scale.

Receipt Printer

To set up the receipt printer, connect power and USB cable, as indicated below.

  1. Place printer in Location that is easily accessible for employee.

From the front

On the top

  1. Connect power and USB Cable as below.

  1. Press this button to open the Printer to load paper.

  1. Load paper roll like below.

Barcode Scanner

  1. Insert USB connector and power adaptor.

  1. Connect the Bluetooth USB Receiver to I/O Panel,

  1. Insert the power cable here and charge the battery.

Cash Drawer

The cash drawer lock has three key positions (lock, unlock, open)

  1. Connect to RJ11 port of POS.

  1. When the key is vertical, the cash drawer is locked so when you click "Open Cash Drawer" in the KioSoft POS App, the cash drawer will not be opened.

  1. Turn the key counter-clockwise, the cash drawer will be unlocked.

  1. If the cash drawer is unlocked, when you click "Open Cash Drawer" on KioSoft POS App, it will be opened.

Ultra VXT

To carry out the connection work, you should get a power supply (PS200003, North America) and the wire harness (as pictured below) ready.

Serial Y Split Cable

Next you may refer to the connection details illustrated by the step-by-step procedures as below.

Step 1

Plug End A of the Y split cable into KioSoft POS Cash Register. There extends End B (White Sticker on end) and End C.

Step 2

Connect End B (White Sticker on end) to the cable of the electronic scale (if needed).

Step 3

1) Connect End D (RS-232 cable) with End C (serial Y split cable).

2) Connect End E (RS-232 cable) with cable of power supply.

(Note: Power adapter is only required for demonstration to connect End E with power supply. It’s not an essential part if PS200003 power supply is adopted.)we need accurate image of PS200003

3) Connect End F (RS-232 cable) with cable of the Reader.

As soon as the power is on, the KioSoft POS Cash Register along with the reader will be energized.

Electronic Scale

Electronic Scale is optional it is only used in the Laundry market.

If you select to use scale by serial port, please refer to steps above in section 1.4.

If you select to use scale by Bluetooth, please refer to the steps below.

1. Swipe down from the top right corner of Login screen to reveal tablet quick settings.

2. Turn on Bluetooth setting of KioSoft POS Cash Register.

3. Press ZERO on the scale, until the scale turns on.

4. Enter settings mode by pressing TARE button before the number on the scale reaches 0.000.


5. Select connecting mode by pressing TARE button until the scale displays “bt”.

6. Press ZERO button to confirm.

7. Select protocol by pressing TARE button until the scale displays “F2 Con”.

8. Press ZERO button to confirm.

9. Press TARE button until the scale displays “BrcI-“.

10. Press ZERO button to confirm. The Bluetooth of scale is opened successfully now.

11. Return to Login screen and click Scale by BT button.

12. Keep only one scale Bluetooth open and wait for KioSoft POS searching.

13. Click Connect button to finish the connection.

14. If you want to connect to a different scale, click Ignore button.

15. Click OK to disconnect the scale from KioSoft POS Cash Register then go back to step 1.

16. If the scale is successfully connected, it will display as the picture below.

  1. Please make sure that the scale is put on a flat surface and leveled so that it won't shake if adding loads.

  1. When the weight displayed is incorrect, press "Zero" button to reset the scale.

  1. If you need to deduct the weight of a basket or a tray, press "Tare" button.

If you want to cancel the "tare" function, you must press "Tare" button again.
