1. Terminal Config

The Terminal Config Menu is entered by tapping the admin card and inputting 4–digit admin password. There are twelve sections of this menu with functions displayed as follows:

Demo mode

The demo mode is mainly used for simulation and demonstration in terms of topping up and making transactions. Once the demo mode is turned on, transaction tests could be done on the Ultra VXT. You could select “YES” to turn on Demo mode as shown in the picture.

Config > Edit Setup

This function is used to set and edit all parameters for the kiosk.

Tap “EDIT” to edit parameters and tap “OK” to confirm and continue to check other parameters. When you finish editing all necessary parameters, you could tap “CANCEL” to exit the function. Once you exit, select “YES” or “NO” to save or quit editing.

Site Code

When set more than 2 site codes into the terminal, if this parameter is set to Enable, while use a blank card to add value, terminal will ask to input site code.

If this parameter is set to Disable, while use a blank card to add value, terminal won’t ask for site code, but will write the first site code into the card.

Site Code Value

This parameter defines the site code values that the terminal will accept.

/

LOC Code

This is a unique value of the location, also referred to as Location ID or ULN.

/

ULN OR LOC CODE

This parameter is used to select which name will be used as the parameter’s name to show the terminal’s location ID, ULN or LOC CODE.

This parameter is the amount option 1 when add value to the card.

This parameter defines the time at which the terminal will upload the report to TTI host.

This parameter defines the IP that the terminal will connect to for uploading the settlement report and audit log to TTI host.

This parameter defines the IP port that the terminal will connect to for uploading the settlement report and audit log to TTI host.

RPT Transfer SER ID

This parameter defines the report transfer server ID.

Cards Counter

This parameter defines the max card's counter in card dispenser or Phelps project.

Printer Paper

This function is not applicable for VC kiosks.

Max Card Amount

Maximum amount in the Mifare Card, default 9999, range is [100, 9999] unit is cents.

Max Cash

This parameter sets the maximum cash amount that can be loaded in the cassette. The unit is dollar. If the cash in the cassette reaches this value, it will report to the server then the trans "Add cash to the card" won't be allowed.

/

Cash Threshold

The unit is dollar. If the cash in the cassette reaches this value, it will report to the server.

/

SUPT Bill Type

It set the denominations accepted by the device. The unit is dollar. A comma "," is a delimiter. E.g., if set to "1,2,5,10", it means 1 dollar, 2dollar, 5dollar, 10dollar can be accepted by the device.

/

Cash Timeout

This defines the terminal can put cash timeout value while use cash to pay fee, default is 180s, unit is second.

CUST Service #

This parameter sets the displayed below "add to card failed" in the screen when add to card failed by Cash.

/

Cash Full Msg1

This defines line 1 in English of the display message while the cash acceptor counter gets the MAX CASH.

/

Cash Full Msg2

This defines line 2 in English of the display message while the cash acceptor counter gets the MAX CASH.

/

Cash Full Msg3

This defines line 3 in English of the display message while the cash acceptor counter gets the MAX CASH.

/

Low Card Level

This parameter defines that warning message should be displayed while left card in card dispenser is equal or less than this value.

/

Low Printer Level

This function is not applicable for AVU kiosks.

LogServer Debug

It is used in PTIP open solutions and decide debug information should be sent to where: logserver or serial port.0=serial port, 1=logserver.

Log Server IP

This parameter defines logserver IP.

Log Server port

This parameter defines logserver port.

Display Timeout

This parameter defines screen display timeout (unit: sec).

/

Screen Timeout

This parameter defines the screen timeout for the laundry main app. Default is 10 sec and the max value is 99 sec.

Tap Timeout

This parameter is used in Phelps project, which defines the timeout value while prompt tap card. 0 means no timeout, value is 0-00.

/

Language

This parameter defines terminal language.0-English, 1-French 2-S Chinese 3-T Chinese.

/

Laundry TID

Unique terminal identifier.

/

Card Tap Text

Define to control LCD display text on PTS to guide customer to hold card on card reader, 0=Place card in Card Slot, 1= HOLD CARD ON READER.

/

DB SurCharge

The value of Debit surcharge (Canada).

/

CONVEN Fee

The value of Credit surcharge (Canada).

/

Batch Record

The maximum quantity of batch saved.

EVERLINK TID

A Unique ID provided by EVERLINK that associates the POS device with a unique merchant hierarchy.

Admin password

To protect any item in admin menu. e.g., enter Terminal config. site code config. collect cash.

Key Value

The value of the key after key injection on KLM.

LED Indicator

This parameter defines time when terminal will upload

a live report. Time to be entered in format HHMMSS (HH: 00-23; MM: 00-59; SS: 00-59).

This parameter defines time when terminal will reboot during the day. Time to be entered in format HHMM (HH: 00-23; MM: 00-59).

Fallback Enable

Enable/disable whole fallback function to stop swiping card after insert a damaged IC card.

The recommended refill amount displayed in the first place:

The parameter defines the network connectivity for Cash Only mode. Default setting is Disabled.

Select “ABOUT” and some general information will be displayed on the screen, such as the APP name, APP version and the APP build date.

Note: The keypad will be changed later. For now, as shown in the pic, “X” stands for cancel, “<” for delete, “O” stands for OK, “U” for Page Up, “A” for editing and “D” for Page Down.

  • Parameter Download

The parameters such as Card Price, Credit Card Processing information, etc. need to be downloaded so that the Ultra VXT can operate normally.  

Input the reference number provided by KioSoft and tap “O” (representing OK) to start parameter downloading.  

The default server IP address and port will be auto filled, please check, and tap “O” (representing OK) to confirm. When the “Download Succeed” message is displayed, it means your parameters are downloaded and configured successfully.

  • Buy/Add Config

Three parameters relating to Cash One mode can be configured herein as follows.  

  • Multiple Cards defines whether to allow the purchase of multiple cards in one transaction.

  • Max Cards Qty defines the maximum number of cards that can be purchased in one transaction.

  • Combine Buy/Add determines whether to allow the combination of buying card and adding value in one step so users don’t need to pay for buying a card in the first step, get the card and make payment again to add value in the second step.

Note: these paramters will be displayed only when Cash One mode is selected as the Work Mode.

Multiple Cards: Tap “YES” to enable it or “Back” to return to Buy/Add Config page.

It is disabled by default.

Max Cards Qty: Tap the keyboard to enter the max quantity and “Confirm” to save the settings.

Default value is 5 and range is 2-10.

Combine Buy/Add: Tap “YES” to enable the function so users can add value to the new card directly before the card is dispensed.  

It is disabled by default.

Activate POS

Tap “Activate POS”, and below images will be displayed on the Ultra VXT, when you see the last “Activated” image, it means you activated the POS successfully.

NMS Download

Tap “NMS Download” and it will automatically download and update parameters.

Firmware Upgrade

Tap “Firmware Upgrade” and it will automatically get upgraded.

Kiosk Mode

This parameter is only applicable to amusement installations. Either value mode or credits mode could be selected in this function.

Settlement

This function is used to do settlement for all transactions. After settlement, the record will be uploaded to Washboard and will be cleared in the Ultra VXT.

Settlement is finished after you see below image. Tap “O” (representing OK) in the red box to exit this function.

Test Dispenser

Tap “Test Dispenser” and the dispenser will automatically get tested. If the dispenser works, a card will be dispensed.

IP Mode

Standard mode: The Ultra VXT will call to your NMS every 4 hours  

Data Save: The Ultra VXT will only perform NMS update daily at rebooting time.

Reboot MTREX

The Ultra VXT will reboot the router once receiving the reboot the cellular modem command. This will only function if using a KioSoft-provided router.

Reset LT

Reset lifetime, this function is used for Cash Kiosk to clear the lifetime of the cashbox.

2. Inject Key

Register Key

To register the key, you need to tap the Deployment Key Card and Key Card, and input the vendor ID.

Note: This function is for KioSoft Technicians use only.

You can also inject vendor key for the Kiosk via KLM.  

Minimum Version Supported:        VXT Kiosks 1.13.7     KLM 3.0.0

1) Click “Inject Key” in the admin menu on the Kiosk screen. 

2) Select “Key Injection with KLM” on the screen. 

3) The Kiosk will display its QR code and machine number.

4) Click “Inject Vendor Key” on the interface of “Install”. Then there are two approaches to injecting the vendor key, either scanning QR Code or Entering machine number. 

5) Select “Kiosk” to inject vendor key. 

6) You can select to enter machine number or scan QR code to help KLM find the device.

7)The Kiosk screen will display the key injection process as shown below. 

8)After the key injection is finished, a prompt message will pop up to remind you of the result of the key injection.

Clear Key

To clear the existing key, you need to tap “CLEAR”.

3. Reset Card Counter

Tap “Reset Card Counter”, tap the admin card, and input the 4 – digit password, the screen will display “Reset Game Card”, tap it and then tap “Confirm”.

4. Site Code Config

This function is mainly used for changing the site code of site cards or single cards.

Note: This function is used for setting up cards for card readers for legacy products that do not support Bluetooth.

5. Collect Cash

Tap “Collect Cash”, tap the admin card and input the 4–digit password, then tap the Cash card and the screen will display as shown in below picture.

You can also perform cash collection via KLM.  

Note: This function only works on Kiocentral server. 

1) Press on the sandwich menu button and click “Cash Collection” in the list. 

2) Click the button bordered in blue to proceed Collection with your location, before which make sure Internet Connection is available and you have confirmed the Location. 

3) The rooms of your Location will be displayed on the new page. Select the room in which you want to complete cash collection. 

*There will be an icon 图片 32, 图片on the right of the room if all the money for all the machines in it has been collected.

Bag Collection 

If “Bag Collection” is enabled in “KLM -> Settings”, the options are “Bag Collection” “Scan Machine QR Code” and “Enter Machine Number”. 

4) Click “Bag Collection” and scan the bar code on the collection bag. Then scan QR Code or enter Machine Number to decide the machine whose cash is to be collected. During the process, the number of machines collected will be updated.  

5) Successful collection is displayed on the screen. And related info like the number of coins and bills can be checked. After you finish the cash collection for a single machine, the data will be uploaded to server automatically in the background.

6) Click the “Show Details” button on the complete collection page and it will direct you to the machine list page. You can see from the picture below that the amount of cash and credit for this collection will be displayed under each machine. 

7) After one cash collection, if you exit the room list and confirm location again to enter the machine list page, you will see as below picture displays that all machines’ status turns to be “Not Collected”. Besides, the data of last collection including the amount of cash and credit as well as the collection time will be imported from server and displayed on the app.

Collect All 

If “Bag Collection” is disabled in “KLM -> Settings”, the options will be “Collect All” “Scan Machine QR Code” and “Enter Machine Number”. 

4) Click “Collect All” marked in the red box to carry out cash collection of all the terminals in the chosen room. 

5) During the process, the real-time progress of collection will be displayed as “Collection in Progress…3/4 collected” as shown below. 

6) After the collection is completed, a message “Collection Complete. 4/4 collected” will be displayed as shown below. The data will be uploaded to the server automatically in the background.

6. Audit Cash

Tap “Audit Cash”, tap the admin card and input the 4–digit password, then tap the Audit card and the screen will display as shown in below picture.

7. Work Mode

There are five of the six work modes that are supported for the kiosk excluding the CASH ONE-Laundry.

9. Add Loyalty Program (Bonus)

If you want to provide bonuses to customers for top-up as an incentive, you could start a Loyalty Program for specific locations following the steps below.

Please note that the Loyalty program only works on KioCentral server.

Setup on Server

1) Log into your server account, visit Rewards Program>Loyalty Program, and click the “Add Loyalty Program” button in blue.

2) Fill in the parameters of the loyalty program and click the blue “Add Loyalty Program” button to save it. You may refer to the descriptions below for the fields.

  • Location: select the location that will offer the loyalty program.

  • Minimum Refill Required defines the minimum top-up amount that can participate in the loyalty program.

  • Bonus Type includes two types: “Fixed Amount” and “Percentage”. By “Fixed Amount”, the bonus amount will be a fixed value according to the interval that the refill amount belongs to as configured in the list. By “Percentage”, the bonus amount will be the product of the refill amount times its corresponding percentage which is determined by the interval it belongs to as configured in the list.

    See the following charts as an instance of the bonus value calculation.

  • Expiry Date defines the effective duration of the program.

  • Comments: you can leave some comments or notes about the program here.

Reader Display with Loyalty Program

After configuring and deploying the Loyalty Program, you can manually reboot the reader to force it to be effective immediately or wait for the Loyalty Program to take effect automatically considering that the VXT Kiosk will check in with the server every 30 minutes to find if there is a Loyalty Program.

After the Loyalty program comes into force, the corresponding value of the bonus awarded for a refill will be displayed for each refill amount. See the picture for illustrations.
