Uninstall Previous Version of Cash Register Application
1) On the employee facing screen, click on the upper left corner of the screen rapidly until the Android home screen appears.
2) Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to show application menu.
3) Click and hold KioSoft POS icon with your mouse, when it is selected, the icon will move with your finger, drag the KposSelfPOS icon over “Uninstall”.
4) Press “Yes” to confirm uninstalling the application.
Transfer New Firmware from USB
1) Connect the USB drive to the KioSoft POS, port is located on the right side of the POS.
2) From any screen showing when starting up you can swipe down from top to show Time.
3) Once you see the time, tap on the time, until the screen shows the full android tablet (would have file/folder icons) screen. See below.
4) From the bottom of the screen, swipe upwards until the app menu shows.
5) Click on the "Explore" app.
6) The File Explore should show "Internal" and "USB". Tap on the "USB" option.
**If you do not see the "USB" option, please confirm the USB drive is connect to the KioSoft POS on the right side.
7) In the USB option find the new apk file, then tap and hold.
8) The folder menu options will appear, choose the ‘Copy” option. Then tap on “Home” at the top.
9) In the “Home” menu, choose the “Downloads” folder.
10) Move the apk file to the “Downloads” folder by tapping on the “Editor” and the choosing “Paste” in the pop-up menu. Then wait for the file to transfer.
Install new version of Cash Register Application
1) Click on the USB uploaded APK file to start the installation process.
Note: Please make sure the APK icon shows as a green android, see below for reference. If the apk file ends with numbers, please tap and hold the file and rename it to end with apk only.
2) When Google Play Protect Shows “Send app for a security check?”, select “Don’t Send” to continue with installation
3) After App installed, select “Open” on the bottom right of the screen
4) When prompted, “Allow” all requested permissions and enable “Allow display over other apps” by using the radio button on the right side, see image 1 below.
5) To re-launch the Cash Register App, tap on the upper left corner of the screen rapidly until the Android home screen appears.
6) Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to show application menu.
7) Click on “KioSoft POS” icon to launch application
