Upload APK for Remote Upgrade

With Remote Upgrade, the AVU Touch software installed on the kiosk can be updated automatically.

To achieve this function, firstly the APK-format software of the newest version shall be uploaded via the route Server Vendor Portal -> Settings -> AVU Touch Remote Upgrade.

Click the blue button “Browse Files”, locate and select to upload the newest software. Input the version number of the software then click the “Save changes” in green right below the field.

Do not leave this page before changes are saved successfully.

Software Upgrade

VC Kiosks support automatic software upgrade in two conditions, on the assumption that a new APK file has been uploaded to server.

1. At the time defined in the CCM profile applied to the kiosk, the tablet will detect the possible new APK file on daily basis and download it when such a new version is detected.

The upgrade action of the tablet will be triggered when a user taps “Back” button from any function of the kiosk to return to the idle screen for the first time after the software downloading is completed.

After the new version app is installed, the tablet will open the app and go to the idle screen automatically.

2. Reboot VC Touch at any time, it will detect the newly updated APK file and pick it up to perform automatic software upgrade.
