1. Buy A Card

Please follow the steps below to buy a refilled card.

1) Tap on the “BUY CARD” button on the idle screen.

2) Tap to select the number of cards that you’d like to purchase.

Card price is displayed at the top-right corner.

3) Select the refill value that you’d like to add to each card.

4) Tap to select the desired payment option.

5) Tap your credit/debit card to the reader or insert cash to the flashing bill acceptor.

6) Take the card dispensed from the card dispenser.

Note: When dispensing cards, the cards will be dispensed via the card dispenser (CD) that was not used in the previous transaction. And if only one CD is usable, the usable one will be used directly; if both are usable, the card dispensers will follow the switching logic below:

  • If CD1 dispenses cards successfully, the APP will record the working CD on this transaction and change to the next card dispenser for the next transaction.

  • If CD1 fails to dispense cards, the APP will switch to command CD2 to dispense cards. And if the CD2 is successful, the APP will record the working CD on this transaction and change to the next card dispenser for the next transaction. It will also report the previous CD error to the Vendor via email if there’s any recorded error locally.

  • If CD1 fails to dispense cards, the APP will switch to command CD2 to dispense cards. And if the CD2 also fails, the APP will display card dispense failed. It will also report both CDs' errors to the vendor via email.

Besides, after cards are dispensed, if the user doesn’t take the cards before the countdown ends, it will cause failed or partial failed transaction. For the Total Failed, which means no cards are taken in one transaction, the VC Touch APP will still use the same CD to dispense card next time; while for the Partial Failed, which means partial cards are taken in one transaction (e.g., 3 out of 5 cards), the APP will use the other CD to dispense cards next time.

7) The card balance will be displayed on the screen after the card is taken.

8) If the kiosk recycles cards consecutively more than five and the idle screen keeps loading, the system will prompt an error message.

If the location is set to Credits Mode, the procedure to buy cards/add value is like that of the Value Mode as mentioned above only with some differences in the UIs.

Credits to get are displayed under the corresponding value options

Card balance is displayed in the form of credits

2. Add Value to Card

Please follow the steps below to add value to cards.

1) Tap the “ADD VALUE TO CARD” button on the screen.

2) Place and hold the card to the reader as instructed on the screen.

3) Tap corresponding option on the screen to select the value to refill the card.

4) Select the payment method desired.

5) Tap your credit card to the reader or insert cash to the flashing bill acceptor.

6) Successful payment is displayed on the screen indicating the card balance as well.

7) If the transaction failed and is refunded, the screen will prompt a message to display the reversal amount.

Note:

For the USA version, it supports partial reversal. When a refund occurs, it will proceed the reversal for the failed part.

For the Canada version, since Everlink doesn't support partial reversal, no matter what reversal amount we request, it will proceed the reversal for the whole batch transaction, which is the reversal amount to be displayed on the AVU Touch screen.

For example, you are going to buy a card and add values to the card, the card is dispensed while it fails to add values to the card, then the charge for buying card and adding values will be wholly refunded.

3. Check Balance

There are two ways to check the card balance, i.e., via the tablet or the Ultra VXT reader. Please follow the steps below to check the balance.

4. QR Code Support

Scan the QR code generated by a third-party website for a successful commerce transaction.

1) Scan the QR code generated by third-party website such as Booking Zone.

2) AVU Touch will verify the QR code.

3) If the QR code cannot be verified, a message will pop up to remind “Invalid QR Code.”

4) If the QR code is valid, AVU Touch will dispense cards and then add funds to the cards. Card Balance will be displayed after the QR code order is completed.

If VC Touch fails to dispense all the cards as desired, try to rescan the QR code after new cards are added to the card dispensers.

If VC Touch fails to add funds to all the cards as desired, try to rescan the QR code after the network turns good.

5. Network Error

If the Ethernet connection is down and the network is also unavailable, the tablet will prompt “Network error, please try again” when clicking the Buy Card button, Add Value to Card button, Check Balances button, or scanning a QR code.
