Document Overview

The objective of this document is to cover how to setup a Wascomat Compass controlled machine with and without coin. This document goes over the wiring of a Wascomat Compass with connection kit PK160037. Additionally, this document explains how to create a the machine’s profile in the Cloud Configuration Manager, used for programming the KioSoft card reader.

Before  Installation

PLEASE UNPLUG LAUNDRY MACHINE

PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF HARNESS

Wiring Instructions

Serial Connection

Place 7-pin Serial connection from WH160010  into  the top of AS160002 Serial Module.

Then place 10-pin connection from WH160001 to the bottom of the AS160002 Serial Module

Take WH160001’s 4-pin blue cable (port maybe printed as D-BUS) into the RS232 on board. NOTE: Do not place, the 4-pin cable into D-BUS on the machine board.

Coin Connection

(NOTE: Skip if not using coin, extra connection will not affect the machine.)

Remove the machines coin drop cable. Then using the blue taps provided, splice the machine’s coin drop

cable into the matching colors on WH111005

Connect WH111005 to coin cable (green, black, brown and white) on WH160010

Power Connection

REMINDER – Please make sure the laundry machine is power down before   proceeding.

Then take WH160001’s female 2-pin, black and white, cable into the AC Adapter’s 2-pin male connection

Arrange AC adapter wires in machine, leading towards the back of the machine.

Wascomat Compass Wiring Instructions ®2022 KioSoft Technologies

Pull AC adapter’s cable through the hole in the back of the machine.

Remove the four screws, circled in image below, off the machine’s back panel.

With AC adapter cable through the hole, plug WH120006 into the AC adapter.

NOTE: Please consult the Owner’s Manual before connecting WH120006 & PS100007 Power Adaptor to your laundry machine. Depending on the machine model and voltage, connections may vary. PS100007 Power Adaptor accepts a wide input from 100-240 V – 50-60HZ 0.8A and output of 12V.

For example: Reference images shown below are  on a Wascomat W720cc. In this example, WH120006’s white cable is connected to neutral and the black cable to L1.

Creating a profile

Under CCM, in the Profile Builder: Select the following for Machine Data

Select “Wascomat”

Select Machine Control Type as “Compass

Select Machine type:

After, click on "Advance Options" and configure machine fields (vend price, time, etc.,) as needed.

Once machine values are configured, click on “Site Data” and enter location information.

  • Site Code and Location ID must match the location in Location Management on Laundry Portal

  • For Location ID and Room#, you should enter the ones that you created previously

See image below regarding Site Data’s field  values.

  1. Location ID

  2. Site Code

  3. Room Number

    • Each room will get its own profile.

  4. Non-Network

    • This should be enabled any time a modem is not present in the room.

  5. Card Holder

  6. Hide Label

    • This will hide the machine number on Connect and Elevate readers

If applicable, for Payment Options, ensure you select the payment methods for the desired location.

Finally, select “Save  Profile” from the drop-down menu and click “Save

  • Enter “Custom Text” for easier identification in the KioSoft Laundry Manager Application.
