The objective of this document is to cover how to setup Wascomat Encore front load washer laundry machine. This document goes over the wiring of an Wascomat Encore front load washer laundry machine with connection kit PK160033. Additionally, how to create the machine’s profile in the Cloud Configuration Manager, used for programming the KioSoft card reader.

Before Installation

Changing machine board to CARD mode

Prior to wiring the washer, ensure machine is in CARD mode to work with the KioSoft card reader

Please see Owner’s Manual for your specific machine model

1. Press the service mode button in the coin vault (coin machines) or behind the card-reader mounting faceplate (card machines). The display goes blank.

2. Press the “Heavy Soil” and “Extra Rinse” buttons simultaneously. This display shows “0 00” if the machine is in COIN mode or “1 00” if the machine is in CARD (serial communication) mode.

3. Press the START button. The display flashes.

4. Press the COLD program button to change the operating mode.

5. The left-most digit changes 0 → 1 or 1 → 0, indicating the new mode

6. (0 = COIN, 1 = CARD).

7. Press the START button. The display stops flashing.

8. Press the service mode button to exit the service mode.

9. Power Cycle machine.

Wiring Instructions

Serial Connection

Connect harness WH160012’s serial cable to the machine’s board located on the back of the Wascomat’s display. See images below for reference.

Power Connection

Located the machine's 2-pin female power cable, on the side of the machine. It is toward the bottom

right corner of the machine’s panel, see image below.

Plug in WH160012’s 2 pin male connector, black & white cable, to laundry machine 2-pin female power cable.

Coin Connection (If appliable)

Connect the WH160012’s coin cable (aqua-blue/teal, orange & white) to the laundry machine’s coin

drop (green, brown & white cable).

Plug in WH160009 into COIN1 connection on the machine. For a front load washer, it will have a red plastic top, boards the back of the machine.

Connect WH160009’s 3-pin connector into the back of the card reader’s coin pulse port.

See “Additional Information” section to identify different coin pulse ports on the KioSoft card readers.

Reader Connection

Connect WH160012’s 10-pin serial cable to reader’s black data cable.

Creating a profile

Under CCM, in the Profile Builder: Select the following for Machine Data

Manufacturer: “Wascomat”

Machine Control Type: “Encore”

Machine type: “Washer”

After, click on "Advance Options" and configure machine fields (vend price, time, etc.,) as needed.

Once machine values are configured, click on “Site Data” and enter location information.

• Site Code and Location ID must match the location in Location Management on Laundry Portal

• For Location ID and Room#, you should enter the ones that you created previously

See image below regarding Site Data’s field values.

If applicable, for Payment Options, ensure you select the payment methods for the desired location.

Finally, select “Save Profile” from the drop-down menu and click “Save”

• Enter “Custom Text” for easier identification in the KioSoft Laundry Manager Application.
