Wiring Instructions for Dexter X-Series Machines with Supported Readers

This document provides wiring instructions for Dexter X‑Series machines, covering washers, single dryers, and stacked dryers. The instructions are organized into two modes: pulse mode and serial mode. Please follow the steps below to complete the wiring.

Safety Reminder: Please unplug the laundry machine before the installation of the equipment.


Stacked Machine Status Module Connection

  1. Connect the WH1A0020 Dexter X-Series Pulse Status Cable & the WH1A0017 Dexter X-Series Pulse Reader Harness to the Stacked Machine Status Box, as shown below:

  1. Connect the WH1A0020 to the machine control PCB or relay PCB according to the target machine type.

  • For Dexter X-Series Washer, connect P2 end to T-Tap at P11-1 on the machine control PCB, and P3 to T-Tap at P3-2 on the machine control PCB.

  • For Dexter X-Series Stacked Dryers, connect P2 to T-Tap at J13-2 on the machine control board, and P3 to T-Tap at J15-2 on the machine PCB. Connect P4 to T-Tap at J4-8 on the relay PCB 1000.

  • For Dexter X-Series Single Dryers, connect P2 to T-Tap at J13-2 on the machine control board, and P3 to T-Tap at J15-2 on the machine PCB. With P4 disconnected.

  1. For single coin machines, connect the P3 end of WH1A0017 to the P1 end of WH1A0018 – Dexter X-Series Pulse Single Coin Harness.  

    For dual coin machines, please refer to the next step Dual Coin Module Connection and connect the P3 end of WH1A0017 to WH1A0019.

  1. For single coin machines, connect the P2 and P3 ends of WH1A0018 – Dexter X-Series Pulse Single Coin Harness to the machine coin drop and coin drop input, respectively.


Dual Coin Module Connection (Only for Dual Coin Machine)

For dual coin machine, a dual coin module and WH1A0019 - Dexter X-Series Pulse Dual Coin Harness are needed. For single coin machine, please skip this section.

  1. Connect the P2 end (6 pins) and P3 end (7 pins) of the WH1A0019 to the dual coin module box.

  1. Connect the P4 end to the machine coin drop and the P5 end to the machine coin drop input.

  1. Connect the P1 end to the female end of WH1A0017 - Dexter X-Series Pulse Reader Harness.


Power Connection

  • For Dexter X-Series Washer:

Connect the P4 end of WH1A0017 to the Machine Power Distribution Block White/Orange and the P5 end to the Machine Power Distribution Block-Orange.

Machine Power Distribution Block

  • For Dexter X-Series single & stacked dryers manufactured before fall 2025, connect the P4 and P5 of  WH1A0017 to the WH010050 – 0.250” M-M Jumper. Then connect the P3 end of WH010050 to the T-Tap at J15-2 on the machine control PCB. And connect P4 of WH010050 to the T-Tap at J15-1 on the machine control PCB.

  • For Dexter X-Series single & stacked dryers manufactured after fall 2025, connect the P4 and P5 ends of WH1A0017 to the Machine Auxiliary Power Flying Lead


Reader Connection

Connect the 10-pin male end of WH1A0017 to the reader.

  • For VQF/VQF-M/Ultra LX Elite II/Elevate Card, connect the cable directly to the reader’s port.

  • For Elevate Touch/Ultra LC/Ultra LCM/Ultra LW/Ultra LWM, connect the cable to the female end of the split data cable of the reader, with the other end unused.

Note: The AB switch on the back of the card reader (Ultra LX Elite II, Elevate Card and Ultra VQF/VQFM) should be in the B position.

  1. Connect the male end of the machine wire to the male end of WH1A0021 or  WH1A0022, as shown in the picture:

  1. Connect the 12-pin end of WH1A0021 or  WH1A0022 to the J7 port of the machine control board.

  1. Connect the male connector of either WH1A0021 or  WH1A0022 to the reader. Ensure the switch is set to the A position. Please refer to the specific instructions for each model:

Ultra VQF / Ultra VQFM

  • No factory data cable (nothing to remove).

  • Use WH1A0021 to the 10‑pin connector.

  • Set the AB switch to A.

Elevate Card / Ultra LX Elite II

  • Remove the pre‑installed data cable.

  • Use WH1A0021 to the 10‑pin connector.

  • Set the AB switch to A.

Elevate Touch

  • Remove the pre‑installed data cable.

  • Use WH1A0022 to the 20‑pin connector.

  • No AB switch.

Ultra LC / Ultra LCM / Ultra LW / Ultra LWM

  • Discard the included data cable (not used).

  • Use WH1A0022 to the 20‑pin connector.

  • No AB switch.

Connection of WH1A0021 and Ultra LX Elite II/Ultra VQF/Ultra VQFM/Elevate Card.

Connection of  WH1A0022 and Elevate Touch/Ultra LC/Ultra LCM/Ultra LW/Ultra LWM

  1. Connect the white end of the machine connection cable to the coin drop.

Power Connection

For washer, connect the power connectors to the machine power distribution block. Connect the P4 end (black wire) to the WHITE/ORANGE port on the machine power distribution block. P5 (the grey wire) to the orange port on the machine power distribution block.

For dryers (manufactured before fall 20255), connect them to WH010050 - 0.25” M-M Jumper. And connect the P3 and P4 ends of WH010050 to T-Tap at J15-2 and J15-1, respectively.

For dryers (manufactured after fall 20255), connect them to machine auxiliary power leads.
