Audio Visual
The features in Audio Visual tab allow users to configure the display on the reader.
Click on Audio Visual tab to enter this section to define the audio and visual related parameters.
VXT Display Mode
Click the option box beside the VXT Display Mode parameter and a drop-down list will be displayed. The prices are displayed on the reader in two ways, i.e., Linear and Multi-price.
Note:
In addition to Ultra VXT Series, this feature also supports Ultra LX Series now.
If you select Linear, there is only one price displayed in the center as shown in the picture on the right. You could click the < or > to toggle the price shown.
If you select Multi-Price, four prices will be displayed on one page. You could click < or > to toggle to another price page. But For Ultra LX Series, when there are no more than 4 options, they will be displayed in the form of Multi-Price; however when there are more than 4 options, they will be displayed linearly as in the Linear Mode.
Hide Machine #
Note:
This feature applies to Ultra LX Series and Ultra VXT Series reader.
This parameter defines whether to hide the machine type and machine number displayed at the lower-left corner of the reader screen.
Click input box of “Hide Machine #” and select Enable/Disable as needed. If it is enabled then the machine type and number will be hidden and vice versa.
Screen Rotation
Note:
This feature applies to Ultra LX Series only.
When the Ultra LX Series reader is installed in a rotated position other than the default upright one, this parameter should be defined accordingly so the screen display is readable to users. You can define it by selecting from the 4 options: 0 degree, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, and 270 degrees.
Note:
Please note that the screen rotates in an anticlockwise manner.
Low Power Mode (Shallow) & Low Power Timeout
Note:
This set of features apply to Ultra LX Series and Ultra VX Series reader.
You can decide whether to enable the low power mode by selecting “Enable” or “Disable”. When you enable this function, the “Low Power Timeout” field will be displayed. Set the value for the timeout field, and the unit is second. When it times out, the reader’s screen will dim a little bit. Any operations when detected will re-trigger the reader, including physical touch on the reader screen, inserting/tapping/ swiping bank card, tapping laundry card and App connection.
Vendor Logo
Note:
This feature applies to Ultra VX Series reader only.
Vendor Logo displays at the upper-right corner of the reader. Click the “Upload Image” button then choose the logo you would like to display from your local storage. Image standard 23x110 px (no greater than 34x160); Image Format: .png; Image Orientation: Horizontal Image.
Customer Logo
This feature is not supported at the present stage.
The Customer Logo displays on the middle screen of the reader’s idle screen. Click the “Upload Image” button then choose the logo you would like to display from your local storage.
Color Effect
Note:
If the machine you are configuring is categorized to a machine category that is already defined with Color Effect via Machine Category, the corresponding configurations will auto-populate to this profile and they are not editable here.
With Color Effect, users can define the color, effect and brightness of the External LED Kit and Reader Screen Border (VX/LX). There are four options in the drop-down menu of color effect: External LED Kit, Reader Screen Border (VX/LX), BOTH LED+SCREEN BORDER (VX/LX) and None.
External LED Kit allows the Amusement vendors to configure the color, effects, and brightness of the kit case. As its name suggests, it requires an external LED kit to achieve this function. This feature applies to Elevate Card Select, Ultra LX Series and Ultra VXT Series reader.
Reader Screen Border (VX/LX) allows the vendors to add color and effects to the border of the reader screen. It doesn’t require any external kit in comparison with External LED Kit. This feature applies to Ultra LX Series and Ultra VXT Series reader.
Note:
This feature is not supported for Elevate Card Select. Therefore, if you’re configuring Elevate Card Select but select this feature by mistake in the drop-down menu of color effect, the following configurations (color, effect, and brightness) still serve for its external LED kit.
BOTH LED+SCREEN BORDER (VX/LX) allows to configure the color effects of both the reader screen border and the external LED kit equipped. On the idle screen, both the reader screen border and LED kit presents the color effect applied at the same time and on the other screens, the LED kit continues to work but the reader screen border will stop showing any color effect.
Note:
If this feature is mistakenly configured for ELEVATE CARD SELECT readers, the color effects defined will still apply to its external LED kit
None is the default option of this feature. When it is selected, you can leave all followed fields about Color, Effect and Brightness blank.
When External LED Kit or Reader Screen Border (VX/LX) is selected, you should give its further configuration of Color, Effect and Brightness for Regular, Special or Freeplay mode as you desire. You are provided with 16 options (see color panel below) for color selection, 4 options (Steady, Chase, Marquee, Rainbow) for effect and 4 options (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) for brightness.
What is Regular, Special, and Freeplay mode?
Regular mode is activated when Special Mode in Machine Profile is disabled;
When One Time or Recurring is selected for Special Mode and relevant fields are configured, Special Mode is on;
And when one of the special prices (such as Special Price, Special Min Price and so on) which are to be configured in Products Price and Timing, is set to 0, Freeplay Mode is activated.
Differences of four effect patterns can be found in color and lighting which are elaborated and visualized as below for your reference.
Steady: One color of light is always on.
Chase: It begins with all lights off. Each light will be turned on one by one until a group of certain size are lit. As each new light at the leading edge is lit, a light from the tailing edge will be turned off. This continues until the leading light position moves back to the first position with which the group of lit lights continues around the screen. The chasing direction moves clockwise.
Marquee: A group of three lights blinks in a way of full brightness, half brightness and no brightness. The moving direction is clockwise.
Rainbow: This effect displays on the external LED kit and reader’s screen border with all the colors cycling around.
Steady | Chase | Marquee | Rainbow |
---|---|---|---|
When Reader Screen Border (VX/LX) is selected, its configuration on Brightness is fixed.
Once there is a user action, the reader will exit the idle screen with its effects off and the light effects during the transaction process will adhere to fixed patterns. You can refer to the table below for descriptions of the fixed color patterns.
Light Effect in Transaction | Description |
Solid green | The card is read successfully. |
Flashing red | The card failed to be read. |
Solid red | The card has no sufficient value to pay. |
Solid red | The CR card failed to deducted the value. |
Solid red | Cloud card failed to deducted the value. |

You could customize the idle screen title by entering the content you desire in the input box beside the Idle Screen Title parameter.
The title will be displayed on the top of the reader as marked with red box.
Special Mode Idle Screen Title
This feature applies to Ultra LX Series and Ultra VX Series readers.
This field defines the text displayed on the top of the reader idle screen for Special Mode (“Tap for Special” in this case).
Click on the input box of “Special Mode Idle Screen Title” and input the content you would like to display on the reader for promotion.
Channel 1 Name
When “Custom” is previously selected as the Machine Type in Machine Profile, the Channel 1 Name field will become accessible for customization. Otherwise, the field will not be displayed. The customized channel name will also be displayed on the readers or reports.
Channel 2 Name
Elevate Card Connect is not supported.
When “Retail Pulse Board” is selected for “Hardware Interface” and “Shared” or “Dual” is selected for “Pocket Configuration” in Machine Profile, you need to name the Channel 2 for your machine. This customized channel name like “Channel 1 Name” will be displayed on the readers and reports as well. See the picture for the reader display when both channel names (channel 1 & 2) are customized as “Lower” & “Upper” respectively.
