Notification Customization Guide

Document Review 

This document is intended to introduce what are the notification customizations in the vendor portal and how it works in the user ends. Notification sender, notification types, partial notification content can be customized. 

There are 3 channels of notification to the vendor operator 

  • Email notification 

  • KCM in-app notification  

  • KCM mobile app push notification 

The email sender(s) need(s) to be set in the vendor portal before the operation email notification works.

The explanation of notification types/triggers: 

Audience

Trigger Event(s) 

To Vendor 

Kiosk Error/Warning 

  • Level 1/2/3 error is triggered. 

  • Level 1/2/3 error is cleared. 

  • Order is failed. 

  • Kiosk stopped service. 

To Vendor 

Consumable/waste warning 

  • Any consumable qty is below the warning threshold.  

  • Any waste material qty is above warning threshold. 

To Vendor 

Customer ticket reporting 

  • Customer submits customer ticket from the mobile app. 

To Customer 

Receipt notification 

  • Customer order is paid with the receipt email selected in order. 

To Customer 

Promotion notification 

  • Referrer sends an invitation to the referee in the referral campaign. 

  • The referee completes the task assigned in the referral campaign. 

  • The user has purchased at least 3 cups of coffee && The last order was placed 14 days ago from today. 

  • The user has purchased at least 3 cups of coffee && The last order was placed 28 days ago from today.

SMTP Server Host 

 

An SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server host is the server that accepts outgoing email messages from your email client and relays them to the recipient's email server. It's the part of the email infrastructure that handles sending emails. 

SMTP Server Port 

 

An SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) port is a specific number used by email clients and servers to communicate. It's like a virtual address that ensures emails are sent and received correctly. The most common SMTP ports are 25, 465 and 587, with 587 being the recommended default for secure email submission.

Operation Email Notification Receiver Setting 

 

The operation email receiver can be 3 possible types 

  • All users 

  • By user role > multiple user roles 

  • By users > multiple users

Operation Notification Event Subscription 

 

The staff user will receive email notification and KC Manager App push notification within 

  • Event scope set in KioCafe Management System’ ‘Settings’ ‘Notification’‘Vendor Notification Receiver Settings’ by admin. 

  • Kiosk scope set in user branch by admin. (vendor > branch > location > room > kiosk) 

For the event scope, the staff user can set narrower event scope by themselves in the profile page based on the global event scope set by admin.
