Preparation Works

Change the Machine Board to SERIAL Mode

The machine should be set to “Serial Payment System” before any wiring works.

  1. POWER OFF the machine.

  2. Turn on the dipswitch 3 (Figure 1).

  3. Power cycle the machine to activate the changes.

Note

  1. Only dipswitch 3 should be on, and all others should be off.

  2. Make sure the machine is powered off before making changes to the dipswitches. Changes made to the dipswitches when the machine is on may not take effect.

Wiring

Step 1: Unlock or remove the front panel screws of the machine to reveal ACA motherboard. An example of machine board is shown below.

Step 2: The Ultra reader will receive power using the transformer with additional parts: AC/Adaptor PS100007 with WH120021, and WH120015.

Steps

a. Disconnect the machine’s transformer connection.

 

b. Connect the machine’s male transformer connection to WH120021’s female power connection. Then WH120021’s male power connection to the machine’s female transformer connection.

c. Connect the third cable (male connector) from WH120021 to the AC/Adaptor’s female connector (brown & blue) and the other end of the AC adaptor cable (male connector, red and black) to WH120015 female connector.

 

Step 3: Use WH120011 to connect the motherboard, power, coin cable, and reader.

  1. Connect the power cable (black and white) to WH120015’s remaining connector.

  2. Connect the serial cable connector to the machine board, located on the top left-hand side.

  3. Connect the three-pin male coin cable (red, black & white) to the machine’s coin cable.

  4. Connect the reader cable to the Ultra LX’s cable.
