Supporting Laundrylux Hero Stacked Dryer

Prev Next

This document outlines the installation instructions for mounting card readers on Laundrylux Hero Stacked Dryers, covering both Card Only and Coin & Card modes. Additionally, it explains how to create CCM profiles in both Common Pulse and Universal Pulse profiles. The document serves as a comprehensive guide for effectively installing and configuring the readers on the dryers.

Installation Instructions

⚠️ Safety Precautions

The machine shall remain powered off when mounting and wiring the reader.

This chapter provides instructions on how to mount our readers onto Laundrylux Hero Stacked Dryers, both in Card Only mode and Coin & Card mode.

Card Only Mode

When your machine is set up to support card payment only, refer to this section for instructions on how to mount the reader to the machine and simultaneously block the coin vault.

You’ll need to install two readers for the upper and lower pocket, respectively. The operations to install them are the same. The below content demonstrates the process on the upper pocket; repeat the same steps for the lower pocket.

1) Find the Coin Opening of the upper pocket on the left side of the machine’s front panel.

2) Snap the card reader bracket into the coin opening.

The machine comes with two brackets. One bracket includes a convenient slot for the card reader studs and cable to pass through, as shown below.

✅For Ultra readers, if the existing slot position is not suitable, you can use the other bracket designed for coin drop openings. This bracket is completely blank, allowing you to easily drill holes for the studs and cable opening, enabling you to adjust the position of the card reader as needed.

3) Remove the screw nuts from the reader studs and save them for later use. Pass the reader cable through the opening and secure the reader to the bracket with the removed nuts. If supplied, use the fender washers to hold the studs properly with the nuts.

4) Remember to block off the coin vault using the plate provided with the machine.

Coin & Card Mode

When you plan to support both coin and card payments, two card readers will need to be installed on the front panel of the upper pocket. Below is a demonstration picture illustrating the general position of the reader on the upper pocket for your reference.

It takes several steps to install the readers, please see the flow chart for the procedure and follow the operations specified in each following section.

Steps to install readers for coin and card support, including removal and reinstallation tasks.

Remove the Door

The readers will be mounted to the front panel of the upper pocket. To do that, you need to remove the door first in order to remove the panel.

1) Locate the upper door hinge on the right side of the door and remove the rubber covers at both ends of the hinge. Set aside for later use.

2) Remove outer hinge screws.

3) Remove one of the two inner hinge screws at the lower end. Then, remove both inner hinge screws of the higher hinge and remove the hinge subsequently.

4) Carefully remove the door from the lower hinge. Once the door is removed, take out the remaining inner hinge screw. Then detach the lower hinge.

Remove the Front Panel

You can proceed with detaching the front panel of the upper pocket by following these steps:

1) Remove the screws securing the front panel from the right side to the left side.

2) Carefully take the front panel off the machine.

⚠️ Be mindful of the door-closed sensor wire connected to the panel; make sure to disconnect it before fully removing the panel. Refer to the next step for detailed instructions on how to disconnect the sensor wire.

3) Lift the plastic cover of the sensor wire, then remove the wire. The front panel can now be fully removed.

Drill Holes on Front Panel

On the front panel removed, you need to drill holes to secure the reader studs as well as pass through the reader cable. There is only one usable position that will work for all card reader types. Refer to the illustration and measurement below for drilling the holes.

Diagram showing dimensions and hole placements for mounting and wiring harness.

Note the following for the hole placement:

Positioning the Studs:

  • One stud should be placed inside the area with the drum roller.

  • The other stud should be positioned in the area between the drum roller and the outer shell.

  • Ensure that the reader side does not extend beyond the side of the machine.

Height Position of the Studs:

  • For correct alignment, the inner stud (located on the left for the lower pocket and on the right for the upper pocket) should be even with the widest portion of the frame surrounding the roller.

Cable Hole Placement:

  • For the lower pocket, position the cable hole to the lower right of the studs.

  • For the upper pocket, position the cable hole to the lower left of the studs.

  • This ensures the cable emerges in the space between the frame around the roller and the side of the machine.

Secure Readers to Front Panel

Mount the readers to the openings on the panel, pass the cable through the cable hole and secure the readers with the nuts.

Wire Readers

After the readers are mounted to front panel, you can connect the readers to the dryer referring to the Wiring Diagram provided in the following chapter. Meanwhile, please note the instructions as follows.

For the lower pocket, follow these steps to run the cable:

  1. Locate the top of the control panel box on the far-right side of the opening.

  2. Use a flat screwdriver to gently bend up the corner of the metal piece. This will create a pathway for the cable to pass from the control area into the space beside the roller frame.

For the upper pocket, this area is already clear:

The existing path where the upper pocket door sensor cable passes through can be used for running your cable without any additional modifications.

Reinstall Panel & Door

After the readers are wired, you can reinstall the front panel and the front door. Remember to reconnect the sensor wire that was previously removed.

Wiring Diagram

Please refer to the diagrams below for wiring connections: one for connecting Ultra readers and another for connecting Elevate readers to the Laundrylux Hero Stack Dryer. These diagrams will guide you through the specific connections required for each type of reader.
